Water pump sets of 3 hp, 5 hp, 7.5 hp and 10 hp are mostly used by farmers 1hp = 745.7 watts. Water pump set which openly throws water in crop fields from its fixed position have an advantage of power generation and power will be bonus along with water for limited hours of pump set's operation …daily .
The fantastic force of water i.e. The jet coming out of water pump set can move turbine connected to a generator and generate electricity ! Simple ! The force of this water jet is so power ful that one cannot hold hand in front of it. But we can do wonders with this force of water and the most important example is power generation.
By connecting micro hydro to water pump set, farmers can generate electricity and I have coined the word "farmhydro" for micro hydro to be used by farmers. Micro hydro is a combination of a turbine attached to a generator by shaft. Micro hydro is mostly used for generating power in remote areas where water from higher level is channelized through pipe line to strike turbine of a micro hydro positioned almost on ground level.

LOCATION : A POND IN SECTOR 9, NEW PANVEL, NAVI MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA STATE, INDIA. Date : 28 TH MAY 2005.
WATER PUMP SET OF 2 HP RUNNING ON KEROSENE FUEL CONNECTED TO A MICRO HYDRO. WATER PUMP SET RUNNING IN HIGH SPEED MODE , THE OUTPUT OF POWER FROM MICRO HYDRO WAS 160 WATTS AT 240 VOLTS . AS APPROVED BY MR. DATTA RAM AND DEEPAK PATEKAR , ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS. BUT AS THE PUMP SET LOCATION CHANGES THIS POWER OUTPUT IS EVEN REDUCED TO AROUND 100 WATTS. THIS IS EXPERIMENTAL AND I'M TRYING TO IMPROVE BY MAXIMISING THE POWER OUTPUT.
- This combination has technical errors so results may vary when it's conducted by experts also possibly using different turbines and getting maximum of every drop of water gushing out of pumpset.
*KINDLY NOTE THAT A KEROSENE POWERED WATER PUMPSET WAS CHOSEN FOR EXPERIMENT PURPOSE ONLY WHICH IS EASY TO CARRY ANYWHERE FOR DEMONSTRATION. PRACTICALLY THE WATER PUMPSETS IN USE ARE RUNNING ON ELECTRICITY I.E. ELECTRIC MOTORS.
